COMMUNIQUÉ ON INCREASING THE MONETARY LIMITS IN THE CONSUMER ARBITRATION COMMITTEE REGULATION
Communiqué On Increasing The Monetary Limits In The Consumer Arbitration Committee Regulation(“Communiqué”)is published in the Official Gazette on the 31 December 2017.
This Communiqué is prepared based upon the Article 6 of the Consumer Arbitration Committee Regulation (“Regulation”).
The Purpose and Scope
The purpose of this Communiqué is to redefine the monetary limits specified in Article 68 of the Codeon the Protection of Consumers Numbered 6502 by increasing 14,47%, which isdetermined as the revaluation rate for the year 2017 in the General Communiqué on Tax Procedures.
Monetary Limits
Thresholdfor applications to the Consumer Arbitration Committees for the year 2018is determined as follows:
a)In the disputes with a value under 4,570 (four thousand five hundred seventy) Turkish Liras, the District Consumer Arbitration Committees,
b)In the provinces where there is a metropolitan municipality, the disputes with a value between4,570 (four thousand five hundred seventy) Turkish Liras and 6,860 (six thousand eight hundred sixty) Turkish Liras, Province Consumer Arbitration Committees,
c)In the center of the provinces where is no metropolitan municipality, the disputes with a value under 6,860 (six thousand eight hundred and sixty) Turkish Liras, the Province Consumer Arbitration Committees,
d)In the districts of the provinces where there is no metropolitan municipality,the disputes with a value between4,570 (four thousand five hundred seventy) Turkish Liras and 6,860 (six thousand eight hundred sixty) Turkish Liras; the Province Consumer Arbitration Committees,
shall be entitled to resolve the disputes.
Effective Date
This Communiqué shall enter into force on 01.01.2018
